SNO-0600
Wi-Fi Enabled Snow Melt Control for Hydronic and Electrical Snow Melt Systems
Wi-Fi Enabled Snow Melt Control for Hydronic and Electrical Snow Melt Systems
The SNO-0600 Wi-Fi Snow Melt Control is an advanced, energy-efficient solution designed to automatically remove snow and/or ice from driveways, sidewalks, walkways, ramps, parking areas, and other outdoor surfaces. Compatible with both Hydronic and electric snow melt systems, the SNO-0600 delivers intelligent control, improved safety, and reduced operating costs. The control system is Wi-Fi enabled, providing real-time monitoring, remote setting adjustments, and convenient access to system history through the Sensorlinx mobile app.
The controller includes customizable settings for snowfall intensity, slab temperature, and adjustable ΔT (Delta T), allowing users to optimize performance for their specific application and climate.
The control can operate a single boiler snow melt system while managing the primary system pump to deliver heat efficiently to the heated slab. It also supports multiple mixing strategies, including:
• Injection mixing control
• Floating action mixing control
• Modulating mixing control (0–10 VDC)
Weather Forecast Integration Reduces Energy Costs
A standout feature of the SNO-0600 is its integrated weather forecasting technology. Using local weather data, the control can proactively activate the snow melt system before a snow event begins, helping prevent accumulation before it occurs.
This predictive operation significantly reduces the need for continuous slab idling throughout the winter season. By only activating the system when conditions warrant, building owners can lower energy consumption, reduce boiler run times, and achieve substantial savings on utility costs while maintaining safe, snow-free surfaces.
Advanced Optical Snow Sensor Technology
The SNO-0600 works seamlessly with the SNO-0110 Optical Snow Sensor, providing highly accurate snow and ice detection for superior system performance. Unlike traditional continuity-based on/off snow sensors, the SNO-0110 uses advanced optical sensing technology to monitor:
• Snowfall presence
• Snowfall intensity
• Snow accumulation rates
• Slab surface temperature
This enhanced feedback allows the SNO-0600 to make intelligent operating decisions based on actual weather conditions rather than simple moisture detection. Users can fine-tune activation thresholds and snow melt settings to achieve the ideal balance between performance and energy efficiency.
